We have such garbage furniture and being seniors with extensive medical expenses, we simply cannot replace the furniture. We painted the room hoping to brighten it up but frankly it makes the worn out furniture look even worse!
This is the room we spend the majority of our time in and it gets depressing seeing the worn out (and broken) furniture every day. With COVID, we like so many others spend so much time at home (except for groceries and medical appointments). It would make the days and evenings so much more pleasurable to see clean new furniture and flooring in the room.

This is a good space with a great start -- freshly painted walls and neutral carpeting. It just needs to get a fresh start with the furniture.
With this design suggestion, we wanted to create a warm, bright and inviting space that offered maximum comfort.
To start, we would anchor the family room with an England sofa and love seat, positioned in an "L" shape in the space where the current sofa and love seat are located. The England U305 sofa and love seat are a contemporary style with clean lines and lots of seating. Our fabric selection would be the Kempsey Denim for its comfortable feel and blend of neutral colors. The accent pillows would be covered in a whimsical print using Horizon Sky.
We would also suggest adding a leather reclining chair, positioned in the open space next to the sofa on the wall. This 38-inch power recliner with adjustable headrest from Smith Brothers of Berne is the perfect place to relax after a long day. This chair is available in more than 1,200 fabrics and top-grain leathers. We are suggesting a leather option in a deep blue/grayish color to complement the sofas.
Finally to add function to this space, we are suggesting a custom Amish table set that includes a coffee table, sofa table and end table in cherry wood. This modern, two-tone occasional table set is handcrafted in America with all-natural, solid wood and is built to last a lifetime. It pairs nicely with the wood surrounding the fireplace, adding function to the room without overwhelming the space.
Now this is a space where a family can relax!
